SYMPOSIUM VENUE

The Symposium will take place in Messina (Italy).

In the first day, the Symposium will open in the prestigious Aula Cannizzaro of the University of Messina, located at Piazza Pugliatti 1, inside the main building of the University of Messina.

In the second day, the symposium will continue in the Centro Congressi A.O.U. “G. Martino”, located at Via Consolare Valeria 1.

Church of the Annunciation of the Catalans – Founded by King Peter of Aragon in 1320, it served as a place of worship for the Catalan community living in Messina. Inside you can admire several works of art, including the valuable painting depicting the Annunciation, made by Antonello da Messina

HOW TO REACH MESSINA

From Catania Airport (Fontanarossa – CTA):

  • By Bus: SAIS Autolinee operates direct buses from Catania Airport to Messina Central Railway Station every 1-2 hours. The journey takes approximately 90 minutes.
  • By Train: There is a railway connection from Catania to Messina, but it may require a transfer at Catania Centrale Station.
  • By Car: You can rent a car and drive to Messina via the E45 motorway. The drive takes about 1 hour.

From Rome:

  • By Train: Take a train from Rome to Villa San Giovanni (on the mainland), then board a ferry (hydrofoil or traditional ferry) to Messina’s harbor.
